How to Apply for Your New Arkansas Driver’s License

Vehicle Registration
It is required that new residents register their vehicles with the state of Arkansas. Act Quickly!
The following is likely to be needed and required to register your vehicle:
- A valid form of Identification (Driver’s License or U.S. Passport).
- Your vehicle title(s).
- All vehicle owners on the title must be present or a power of attorney must be presented for the owners who are not present.
- Show your current out-of-state vehicle registration.
- Complete a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection.
- Pay any applicable fees (see “Vehicle Registration Fees” below).

Voter Registration in Arkansas
To vote in Arkansas elections you must have a valid and approved voter registration. You will need to register to vote through the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
Photo identification at the polling booth is a must in Arkansas.
To be eligible to vote in Arkansas, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be an Arkansas resident.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- NOT been convicted of a disqualifying felony.
- NOT be declared “mentally incompetent” by a court.
