How Mail Forwarding Works

When you set up mail forwarding with the USPS, the post office will forward mail sent to your old address to your new address for up to 12 months. This should give you enough time to change your address with utility providers, friends and family, and other places.

The easiest way to complete your change of address is on the USPS website: www.USPS.com/move. You can set up a permanent or temporary move, full or partial household, plus extras like extending your forwarding time line.
