You are required to notify the state of your change of address. This can be done online. They will likely request your current driver’s license number and your new address. However, the state of Missouri will not need to issue you a new Driver’s License or ID Card.

 

Vehicle Registration

As a new resident of Missouri, you are required to register your car and obtain a Missouri driver’s license. It is required that you visit a Missouri State office and to apply for your driver license within 30 days of moving to Missouri. Act Quickly!

 

How to Apply for Your New Missouri Driver’s License

To transfer your out-of-state driver’s license, you will likely need to bring:

  • Documents proving your identification (a valid, unexpired driver’s license from another U.S. state or territory)
  • Proof of car insurance.
  • Proof of social security number.
  • A vehicle with a valid registration.

Vehicle Registration

Within 30 days of moving to Missouri, it is required that new residents register their vehicles with the state. It is required that you visit a Missouri State office. Act Quickly!

The following is likely to be needed and required to register your vehicle:

  • A valid form of Identification (Driver’s License or U.S. Passport).
  • Your vehicle title(s).
  • All vehicle owners on the title must be present or a power of attorney must be presented for the owners who are not present.
  • Application for Missouri Title and License (Form 108)
  • Show your current out-of-state vehicle registration.
  • Complete a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection.
  • Pay any applicable fees (see “Vehicle Registration Fees” below).

Voter Registration in Missouri

To vote in Missouri elections you must have a valid and approved voter registration. You will need to register to vote through the Missouri Department of State.

Photo identification at the polling booth is a must in Missouri.

To be eligible to vote in Missouri, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a Missouri resident.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • NOT been convicted of a disqualifying felony.
  • NOT be declared “mentally incompetent” by a court.

How to Register to Vote in Missouri

You must register to vote by mail or in person at your local county clerk.
